UK Wind Week 2009 13 – 21st June 2009 gets set to lift the lid on wind


The majority of people in the UK are in favour of wind energy, despite popular myths to the contrary, according to BWEA. As the annual celebration of wind energy – Wind Week 2009 kicks off, thousands of people across the country are expected to show their support and find out more about this clean, free and sustainable form of electricity generation.

A WEEK TO CELEBRATE WIND ENERGY BWEA announces list of projects to open for annual celebration

BWEA, UK’s leading renewable energy association, today released the list of wind farms opening for the UK’s Wind Week 2009. The Scottish Renewables Forum, which is running a parallel Scottish Renewables Festival, has also announced a further list of renewable energy projects which will be open to visitors in Scotland.

BWEA announces dates for UK Wind Week 2009

UK Wind Week, the annual celebration of wind energy will take place between June 13 and 21st 2009 this year. Organised by the BWEA (British Wind Energy Association), Wind Week has been extended from a weekend to 9 days of activity this year and will coincide with Global Wind Day on June 15th. Wind farms and supporters will be celebrating the power of wind energy during the week, with events going on across the country.
